Lorenzo Bocci
Lorenzo Bocci was born in Cecina in 1975, Tuscany, Italy.
He began his theoretical musical studies and the study of the trumpet at the age of 8 at the Music School in his town (Donoratico).
At the age of 12 he joined the Municipal Band, where he had his first relationships with the band repertoire and with band instrumentation.
After completing his master's studies he graduated in Trumpet at the "Pietro Mascagni" Musical Institute in Livorno.
He has played with various classical and jazz orchestras and ensembles, giving performances both in Italy and abroad (Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Czechoslovakia).
He carried out his military service with the Army Band as a trumpet player and as a collaborator in the music archive.
During this period he was more widely introduced to the knowledge of the musical band, from the historical point of view, of the instrumentation and direction, by Maestro Fulvio Creux with whom he still maintains a relationship of esteem and collaboration.
He directed the “Giuseppe Verdi” Philharmonic of San Vincenzo (LI) from 2001 to 2006, the Società Filarmonica Pisana (PI) from 2006 to 2009, the “Pietro Mascagni” Philharmonic of Cecina (LI) from 2001 to 2014 and from 2000 to 2018 the Peccioli Philharmonic Society (PI).
He is currently director of the Premiata Filarmonica “Giuseppe Verdi” in Calci (PI).
He is an arranger and composer for band, orchestra, chamber music groups and various more or less usual wind ensembles and many of his pieces are published by publishing houses:
HAL LEONARD-DE HASKE PUBLICATIONS, MOLENAAR EDITION, ALLEMANDA and MASTER SYMPHONY.
His arrangements are recorded on CDs by the best European and world bands such as: The Johan Willem Friso Military Band (Holland), The Band of the Belgian Navy (Belgium), The Police Band of Baden Wurttemberg (Germany), Slovenian Police Orchestra (Slovenia ), The Washington Winds (United States), Midwest Winds (United States), by the Brass Band “Soli Brass” (Holland), Banda de Música da Força Aérea (Portugal), Banda Sinfònica da Policia de Seguranca Pùblica (Portugal) and Landespolizeiorchester (Germany).
In 2010 he obtained the “P. Mascagni” of Livorno the II level Academic Diploma in Instrumental Teaching in the competition class A077 (Trumpet).
Since 2011 he has held the trumpet chair at the “L. Andreotti” of Pescia (PT).
Since 2021 he has held the trumpet chair at the “M. L. Niccolini” of Ponsacco (PI).
